Humana Nova's manager, Ivan Božić, participated in the 2nd Stakeholder Board Meeting as part of the European project TRUSTex – "Textiles EPR 2040", held in Paris in late June.
The meeting brought together EU representatives, policymakers, textile sector experts, waste management organizations and industry representatives to discuss the future of the textile sector and the development of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system by 2040.
During the two-day program, participants addressed key topics that will shape the future of the circular economy in the textile sector, including:
- Developing EU legislation under the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles,
- Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system,
- Digital Product Passport (DPP),
- Requirements under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR),
- Eco-modulated EPR fees,
- Creating future scenarios and potential transformation pathways for the textile sector up to 2040.
Through this and similar initiatives, Humana Nova helps create better European practices as a trusted partner with 15 years of experience in textile waste management and employing people from vulnerable groups. At the same time, new insights from the Paris meeting will help us further develop innovative solutions that we have already put into practice.
